Professor Dr. Yasemin Boztug is Chair of Marketing and Consumer Behavior at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen since 2009. She received her PhD at the Humboldt-University of Berlin. During her habilitation, she hold a temporary position as principal investigator for three years founded by DFG to work on her research project on market basket models. She started in 2007 as a visiting associate professor at the Aarhus School of Business, Department of Marketing and Statistics in Denmark before she finished her habilitation at the Humboldt-University Berlin in 2008. Afterwards she continued to work as a tenured associate professor at the Aarhus School of Business before she moved to Göttingen in 2009. In 2014 she was a visiting research fellow at the Business School of the University of Queensland in Australia.

Her research interests range from food marketing, labelling research, and discrete choice modeling through pricing strategies to market basket analysis. She has published numerous articles in international journals such as Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, Appetite, Marketing Letters, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Nutrition Reviews, OR Spectrum, Journal of Business Economics, Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, Annals of Tourism Research, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Food Policy, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Consumer Policy, Advances in Consumer Research, Marketing ZFP, Schmalenbach Business Review or Computational Statistics.

She received funding from the DFG as principal investigator in a Research Training Group dealing with the transformation of global agri-food systems as well as from the European Union (for two collaborative projects, one on the relevance of labelling of food products and one dealing with consumer behavior in Erasmus networks).
